REQUEST FOR DEPOSIT AND CONFIRMATION OF YOUR PLACE

We must now confirm the number of participants and ask for a deposit to secure the hotel accommodation.

Please download and print the pdf (140KB) application form , complete your details and let us have your cheque for a deposit of £100 made payable to The Historic Rose Group; overseas members may prefer to send €110 cash.

We shall send an acknowledgement by email to those who have it, otherwise please enclose a stamped addressed envelope for receipt and further joining instructions. Those who are joining the tour from abroad will be able to pay the balance in euros on arrival, as before.

We shall assemble at Dieppe – early in the afternoon of Monday, 21st June, and after visits to some lovely gardens in the area, spend one night at the Hotel Casino at St. Valéry en Caux, a delightful small fishing port for an evening stroll after dinner. For those who might want to book in for the previous night the contact details for the Hotel Casino are as follows:

contact@hotel-casino-stvalery.com Telephone: + 33 (0) 235578800.

We have also made enquiries as to whether anyone arriving by car could leave it in their parking for the two nights we are away, and was told there should be no problem.

To remind you of the draft itinerary. There is a cluster of beautiful gardens in the Dieppe-Rouen area including the Jardins d’Angélique, Le Clos de Coudray, Agapanthe and the Roseraie de Normandie, also fine Rose Gardens at Château de Mesnil-Geoffroy. After lunch on the second day we shall embark on the longer journey to the Bayeux area, stopping en route to see the Jardins de Pays d’Auge, an enchanting group of gardens and an excellent nursery.

Our base for two nights will be The Churchill, a boutique hotel, in the heart of the old city of Bayeux. The timing should allow for individual visits to the Cathedral, the famous Tapestry and the excellent and attractive shops. The visits planned are to some very special gardens including one with a unique collection of roses, Les Oubliées, the jardins du Château de Brécy, Jardin de Jumaju (the biggest collection of old roses in Normandy) and the jardins de Castillon-Plantbessin, the French Garden of the Year in 2009.

On the return journey to Dieppe we shall visit the Parc Floral in Caen, and also if the itinerary and timing allows, a very special garden, with a collection of roses without thorns, as well as many other interesting varieties

In all a dozen gardens, a tour packed with interest for an inclusive price of 520 euros (approximately £455 pp at the current rate of exchange) sharing a double or twin room.

We regret that the single supplements in France are rather high at £35 per night.

Notes:
These costs allow for slight fluctuation of the Euro based on current exchange rates.
There may be an opportunity for those who require it to end the tour in Bayeux and return from Caen and possibly the addition of another day to the tour.
