SUMMARY:Visit to Starrbank in Fife
DESCRIPTION:At 2.00 pm on Wednesday 24th June 2026 we will visit the garden at Starrbank\, at Luthrie in Fife. Starrbank is the home of Mr & Mrs Paul and the gardens were designed by Michael Innes who continues to play a part in their management. Mr Innes is head of a leading garden design company and was formerly gardens advisor to the National Trust for Scotland. He will be our guide for the visit. \nThis is the first ot two visits in late June to gardens in Scotland (the second is to a garden in St Andrews). SUMMARY:Visit to St Andrews in Fife
DESCRIPTION:On Thursday 25th June an afternoon visit has been arranged to the garden of Mrs June Baxter in St Andrews. This is a return visit to the charming garden hidden behind one of the main streets in St Andrews\, and some members will remember seeing the abundance of roses there in 2010 and as part of the Scottish tour in 2011. \nThis is the second of two visits in late June to gardens in Scotland (the first is to Starrbank in Fife). SUMMARY:Cuttings day at Carolside in the Scottish Borders
DESCRIPTION:Mrs Rose Foyle has very kindly agreed to host another cuttings and propagation day at Carolside. This will be an opportunity to obtain cutting material to propagate from the extensive collection of old roses at Carolside\, both for members’ own enjoyment and to help provide a backup for some of the rare varieties. \nThe date set is Wednesday 5th August at 11.00 am.
