Romantic Rousham
Thursday 19 June @ 10:30 am - 3:30 pm
£15.00 – £20.00Rousham, near Bicester: We meet at 10:30 at Rousham House and Gardens for a private tour led by our highly knowledgeable and experienced chairman, Michael Marriott.
Described by the owners as “completely unspoilt and uncommercialised”, the eighteenth century pleasure grounds at Rousham are largely unchanged since the time of William Kent. There are also three seventeenth century walled gardens, packed with old roses and tumbling perennial plants. There are a number of unidentified Gallica roses at Rousham which our members are invited to identify. After a leisurely picnic lunch within the garden we will spend time in the afternoon exploring the rest of the extensive and highly picturesque grounds (bring your own picnic).
