To celebrate the 25th anniversaries of the Historic Roses Group of the Royal National Rose Society* and the Hampton Court Flower Show in 2015, a collection of 25 varieties of historic roses was donated to the Hampton Court Palace gardens by the Historic Roses Group.
The varieties were chosen to show the beauty, charm and diversity of old garden roses, and to be reliable in the south-facing border provided by the Palace. All are historically and horticulturally interesting as well as garden-worthy. They were planted by the Historic Roses Group in March 2016, and are maintained by the Palace Garden team.
*The Royal National Rose Society subsequently closed in 2017.
